Collaboration that charges OneMed for the future

Buddy Energy and ChargeNode create an integrated energy solution in Halvorseng Logistics Park. Solar power, energy storage and smart charging make electrified logistics sustainable and profitable.

When Castellum and Port of Gothenburg elaborates Half Bed Logistics Park This is more than just new logistics. With the aim of creating a sustainable hub for the electric transport of the future, the company launches Buddy Energy and ChargeNode now a long-term cooperation“Together we are delivering a complete energy solution to the property owner and OneMed's new logistics centre to show that the logistics of the future can combine technology, sustainability and business benefits in a single system,” says Per-Henrik Persson, CEO at Buddy Energy.

Halvorseng is emerging as one of the Nordic region's most modern logistics parks, strategically located between the Port of Gothenburg and the major transport routes. Castellum and the Port of Gothenburg are behind the venture through the joint company Halvorseng Fendomets AB with a clear ambition to create a facility that combines sustainable growth, energy efficiency and electrification.

This project marks the beginning of the collaboration between Buddy Energy and ChargeNode — two players who are jointly developing the integrated energy solutions of the future. The partnership creates an end-to-end solution where solar power, energy storage and connected charging infrastructure work together to create a self-sufficient and future-proof operation. Buddy Energy is responsible for the energy system and integration towards the property, while ChargeNode delivers shared and intelligent charging technology that allows transport fleets to be electrified without increasing the load on the grid.

“Electrification of logistics requires more than charging points. It's about creating an energy flow where production, storage and charging work together and that's exactly what we're doing here,” says Per-Henrik Persson, CEO at Buddy Energy.

For ChargeNode, the project involves using their connected and shared charging technology as an integral part of the property's energy system. Genome smart load balancing between vehicle and building, charging can be optimized based on available power and electricity prices in real time.

“We have developed a system that makes it possible to scale up electrification without overloading the mains. Together with Buddy Energy, we are creating a solution that makes it profitable to change — both for property owners, tenants and society at large,” says Annika Abraham, CEO ChargeNode Europe AB.

When OneMed's logistics center is completed, it will be one of the first examples of how sustainable logistics, local energy production and smart management can work together in practice where climate benefit, system efficiency and business benefit go hand in hand.

“For OneMed, the smart charging infrastructure is a prerequisite for electrifying the entire transport fleet without increasing the load on the grid. By combining efficient logistics with renewable energy and intelligent charging, we strengthen both our competitiveness and our contribution to society's climate goals. It is valuable for our customers, our employees and for the future,” says Mikael Eisner, Transport & Distribution Manager at OneMed.
