ChargeNode Power Light awarded as 2024's best innovation in lighting

ChargeNode launches Power Light — a charging pole with integrated lighting, developed with atelier Lyktan. Award-winning at the Electric Fair for innovative design and smart charging technology.

With innovative charging technology and robust lighting design, ChargeNode has created a completely new charging pole with lighting in collaboration with atelier Lyktan. It immediately attracted attention with the award for the best novelty in the lighting category at the Electric Fair this year.

Eight finalists but only one winner were voted on and thankfully it was ChargeNode Power Light. A successful collaboration in many ways.

“It shows that it is possible to develop great products if you collaborate across borders, but also that there is a demand for innovative electric car charging that in our case combines smart charging technology with functional lighting,” explains Martin Lindahl of ChargeNode.

The collaboration between ChargeNode and atelier Lyktan has resulted in a charging pole with lighting developed for the Nordic climate. A powder-coated casing made of recycled aluminium withstands the elements and provides a low carbon footprint. A Gore-Tex membrane releases moisture and a symmetrical omnidirectional luminaire with high colour reproduction (CRI90) create a welcoming and safe parking environment that does not dazzle those who park. Since the lighting is also dimmable, it can be adapted to different lighting conditions. The inspiration for Power Light comes from charging for boats, where there are charging poles with built-in lighting.

It charges up to 22kW and is available with either two or four outlets. Charging is easily controlled via a smart app. With a timer, the customer can schedule the lighting himself and in the portal administer users, prices and possible discounts and keep track of the charging statistics (amount of charge kWh, charging sessions, etc.).

“We are very pleased that ChargeNode Power Light is awarded and that our innovative collaboration is appreciated,” concludes Martin Lindahl. You could say that the light comes from the south, the charge from the west, and the award from cheese.
