HEM signs framework agreement with ChargeNode to expand public charging infrastructure in Halmstad. The agreement includes smart charging service and hardware for a fossil-free future.

Halmstad Energy and Environment (HEM) have signed a framework agreement with ChargeNode Europé AB (ChargeNode) to develop the public charging infrastructure in the municipality. The agreement includes both a digitized charging service as well as hardware for establishment where users need to charge their vehicles.
“We look forward to developing a partnership with HEM and hope that more energy companies and operators will follow suit.”
— Kristian Sandahl, founder of ChargeNode.
As more and more people choose to drive electric cars, the need for charging is growing. But not everyone has the availability of parking space or the ability to install their own charging station. You may live in a tenement or even not have the finances. HEM is now investing heavily in expanding the public charging infrastructure for the municipality's residents and visitors and has therefore signed a five-year framework agreement to be able to purchase charging system from ChargeNode. HEM will in turn offer charging facilities as a service to property owners, condominium associations, businesses, golf clubs and hotels, among others.
Towards a fossil-free society
“HEM has understood how important it is to develop a public charging infrastructure and we are very happy that we will be part of their initiative that simplifies the deployment of public charging infrastructure, which should be a matter of course in all municipalities,” Kristian says.
ChargeNode will also deliver the charging service itself to HOME. End users use either ChargeNodes or Easyparks app to start and stop their charging. Users get a worry-free charge and should problems arise, you can get help around the clock.

“With ChargeNode as a long-term partner, we get a unique and patent-pending technology with dynamic queue management, low power demand and long service life. In this way, we can accelerate the electrification of transport in Halmstad municipality,” Viktor concludes.
