ChargeNode and studio Lyktan are launching a Swedish-developed charging bollard with integrated lighting. Smart electric car charging meets sustainable design for safe and comfortable parking spaces.
ChargeNode and atelier Lyktan have jointly developed a combination of smart electric car charging and lighting that creates worry-free and safe charging and parking spaces.
When the West Swedish developer of electric car charging ChargeNode was going to develop a new charging solution with lighting, they turned south to atelier Lyktan, well-known for constantly developing new forms of luminaires.
The new lighting bollard is developed for our Nordic climate, a powder-coated casing made of recycled aluminum resists the weather and at the same time provides a low carbon footprint. In addition, the bollard is developed and manufactured in Sweden. A Gore Tex membrane ensures a perfect light image regardless of the weather. The symmetrical omnidirectional light creates a welcoming and safe parking environment.
“It's about creating a sustainable light with visual comfort,” explains Malin Gadd of atelier Lyktan. “For example, we have added a beautiful grid that refracts the light and provides a decorative led light. With a 360 degree light scattering and high color reproduction (CRI90), the new lighting bollard provides excellent light for parking spaces. Since the lighting is also dimmable, it can be adapted to different lighting conditions.
Each bollard has two or four charging outlets. Charging, billing and support are handled by ChargeNodes charging and payment service, explains Christofer Rosengren at ChargeNode. The plant owner can easily administer their users, prices and any discounts and keep track of the charging statistics (amount of charge kWh, charging sessions, etc.). Here we also monitor the operation and secure the uptime of the charging system. The collaboration has led to an electric car charger that combines stylish design with function. Long service life combined with new charging technology that requires lower power output, then the total cost is hard to beat.
