Ramundberget invests in sustainable mobility with 46 charging outlets from ChargeNode — the largest charging point in the Swedish mountains. Smart, scalable and reliable electric car charging for guests.
One of Sweden's most popular mountain destinations, Ramundberget in Funäsfjällen, is investing heavily in electric car charging for its guests. The choice of supplier fell to ChargeNode in Gothenburg, which developed a pioneering and patent-pending charging technology for large-scale electric car charging. The technology eliminates traditional charging poles and allows more electric cars to share in available charging capacity.
“Meeting the needs of our guests, while continuing to pursue Ramundberget's long-term sustainability work, has been the biggest driving force for us to invest in the charging infrastructure,” says Philip Flacké — owner and CEO of Ramundberget, Funäsfjällen. “After careful consideration, we chose ChargeNode and thus create the largest single charging point in the Swedish mountains, a total of 46 barns. outlets around Fjällgårdstorget for our visiting guests.”
ChargeNode offers a breakthrough charging technology for large-scale electric car charging that allows multiple cars to share on a centralized charging infrastructure. Only charging outlets are placed at each parking spot. The solution eliminates the need for a charging box at every parking space and, through smart steering, all cars get the charge they need. “ChargeNode was the obvious choice. Their smart charging technology allows us to offer more charging points than we originally intended. We are in a mountain environment with extreme temperature and weather extremes, where operating safety and protecting nature's resources with the help of ChargeNode's charging technology were crucial to us,” continues Philip Flacké.
Ramundberget has chosen a beam solution from ChargeNode that involves placing sockets in a railing along the parking spaces, this minimizes ground work and facilitates future maintenance. The system can easily scale to hundreds of charging locations. ChargeNode delivers a complete solution that includes installation, operation, support and a cloud-based payment solution.

Ramundberget is a perfect example of this. Putting a charging pole at each parking spot results in poor utilisation because the charging point is then blocked for other electric drivers. ChargeNode was founded in 2018 and is a fast-growing greentech company based in Gothenburg. The company offers smart charging systems for large-scale electric vehicle charging based on proprietary and patent-pending charging technology. By centralizing charging technology, charging can be distributed to more parking locations without the need for a separate charger at each parking location. With smart steering, e.g. at departure time, cars with short parking time can be charged first and then those that need to stand longer. Everyone gets the charge that they desire. Customers include real estate companies, condominium associations, hotels and destinations, some of which are ESS Hotell, Varberg Energi, Bygg-Göta, PGA Sweden International and KVD Bil.
Ramund Mountain Funäsfjällen, western Härjedalen, is a genuine mountain destination started in 1936 by the married couple Agaton and Brita. Ramundberget's operations are based on four foundations: nature, hosting, history and sustainability. Today there are endless experiences all year round with; Ramundberget bike park, 30 miles of cross-country trails, 42 descents, 10 lifts, Mickelina's world for children, restaurants, sports shop and rental, country store, golf course and sustainable trails for cycling, canoeing and hiking. Accommodation consists of a mountain hotel, apartments, cottages and camping. In total, Ramundberget offers 3000 beds.
