We had a chat with Lars Svensson, chairman of Vallen Södra Samfälförening in Växjö, who installed 12 charging boxes for his members with ChargeNode.
Tell me, how did the discussions about installing electric car charging go in your brf and why did you make that decision?
“Proposals were made at an owners' meeting in the association. Since there was an opportunity to receive a grant, everyone agreed not to wait. We began to investigate which suppliers could be relevant and to bring in off-peas, and with this as a basis to seek contributions.

How did you go about finding alternative charging partners?
“We checked through acquaintances who had either been in contact with suppliers themselves or knew, for example, installations made at companies with which one was employed.
Why did the choice fall on ChargeNode?
— By having been in contact with references who gave positive feedback. In making the final decision, it weighed heavily on the fact that our dealings with ChargeNode worked well and that we quickly got answers to the questions we had.
How have you experienced our support and charging and payment service so far?
“The times we have been in contact with the support, they have been very solution-oriented. At one time, a software error was the reason why the charging function did not work. This was solved quickly and easily. Payment function and statistics work great.
What tips do you have for other condominium associations who are going to install electric car charging?
“The most important thing is to acquire knowledge about the market, the product and how the financing can be done.

Think about how the apartment owner will pay. When to start using the electric car charger or when installation takes place?
“You can gain a lot of knowledge by visiting other associations and gaining experience exchange.
Brief information about Samfällivet
Vallen Södra Samfälligt consists of 11 owner-occupied apartments. This community is comparable to a condominium association in that all owners are more involved in the larger decisions that are made. Operations and day-to-day decisions are handled through the Board of Directors while all types of investments and other major decisions are made at what we call the Owners' Meeting.
