ICA MAXI Nyköping installs 30 charging points with ChargeNode's smart beam solution. A scalable and cost-effective solution that makes electric car charging easy for customers.

ICA MAXI Supermarket in Nyköping is the first of Sweden's ICA retailers to offer ChargeNode's innovative charging technology. In the near future, ChargeNode will also deploy ICA MAXI to the University of Örebro.
“More and more customers come with electric cars and being able to offer charging while shopping is therefore an important part of our visitor experience. Likewise, we feel a great responsibility to contribute to the transition to a fossil-free society,” says Mårten Tenne, owner of ICA MAXI Supermarket in Nyköping.
ICA MAXI in Nyköping can now offer 30 charging points, but the system is prepared to scale up to hundreds of charging points.
“That the choice fell on ChargeNode was simple. We have a high turnover of visitors every day and ChargeNodes smart charging technology allows us to offer more charging points than if we had chosen traditional charging poles,” concludes Mårten Tenne.
ChargeNode's patent-pending charging technology means that many electric cars share on a centralized charging unit where only charging outlets are placed at each parking spot. With smart software, charging is distributed so that all cars get the charge they need. ICA MAXI in Nyköping has chosen a beam solution from ChargeNode, which involves placing sockets in a railing along the parking spaces. The installation does not require any ground work as cabling is hidden inside the railing, which reduces investment cost and facilitates future maintenance. ChargeNode delivers a complete solution that includes installation, operation, support and a cloud-based payment solution.
“ICA MAXI in Nyköping is a very good example of why centralized charging technology with smart sharing is the future for large car parks. By optimizing and distributing the available charging power on the number of cars plugged in, departure times, the charging capacity of the cars and the desired charge, all customers get the charge they want without the property owner having to overinvest in charging poles or increase the power output on their property,” explains Kristian Sandahl, CEO and founder of ChargeNode.
In the near future, ChargeNode will also deploy ICA MAXI to the University of Örebro.
“It feels really good that we have received this trust and we are very proud to be noticed by more and more ICA traders,” concludes Kristian Sandahl.
