Next Step Group invests in 36 charging points with ChargeNode's scalable and aesthetic beam solution in Nya Hovås. Smart electric car charging with solar energy for a circular future.

To be one of Gothenburg's most dynamic urban and real estate development companies, The Next Step Group, betting on stylish and scalable electric car charging from ChargeNode. First up are The House and Origohuset in Nya Hovås, which together now offer 36 charging places to their visitors.
“At Next Step, creativity and sustainability are always in focus when we create new climate-smart neighbourhoods. We have installed over 800 solar panels in Nya Hovås and together with ChargeNode's innovative and scalable charging system, we can now offer a completely circular system where our visitors charge with electricity generated from our own photovoltaic system. We are incredibly proud of this solution that is good for us, our visitors and our planet.”, says Joakim Garfvé, Property Manager at Next Step.
ChargeNode's innovative charging technology means that multiple electric cars share on a centralized charging unit. The solution creates discrete charging points, without charging boxes, with only charging outlets at each parking spot. The system can scale up to hundreds of charging locations. With smart software, charging is distributed so that all cars get the charge they need.
Next Step has selected ChargeNodes best selling beam solution, a railing in recycled aluminium and with integrated charging outlets. All cable is hidden inside railing, which minimizes expensive earthworks. Charging is activated and paid easily by users with a mobile app.
ChargeNode delivers a complete solution to Next Step that includes installation, operation, support and cloud-based payment
“It feels really good that one of Sweden's most innovative urban developers is choosing to invest in our innovative charging technology. It is further confirmation that ChargeNode is on the way to establishing a new standard for solving large-scale EV charging in parking environments without compromising either aesthetics or scalability.”, says Kristian Sandahl, CEO and founder of ChargeNode.
ChargeNode was founded in 2018 with the conviction that new technological solutions with smarter resource utilization are required to solve today's challenges of large-scale electrification. Today, the company is a fast-growing greentech company based in Gothenburg. The company offers smart charging systems for large-scale electric vehicle charging based on proprietary and patent-pending charging technology. By centralizing charging technology, charging can be distributed to more parking locations without the need for a separate charger at each parking location. With smart steering, e.g. at departure time, cars with short parking time can be charged first and then those that need to stand longer. Everyone gets the charge that they desire. Customers include real estate companies, condominium associations, hotels and destinations, some of which are ESS Hotell, Varberg Energi, Bygg-Göta, PGA Sweden International and Kvdbil.
Next Step Group is an urban and real estate development company based in Gothenburg with the vision to create environments where people feel pride, closeness and participation. The company currently operates three of Gothenburg's largest urban development projects: Nya Hovås, Wendelstrand and GoCo Health Innovation City.
