ChargeNode installs 85 public charging outlets at Park It Smart at Landvetter Airport

Park It Smart is making a major investment at Landvetter Airport and has installed 85 public charging outlets. This means that airport travellers can now easily and safely charge their electric and hybrid cars. Property owner RH Property earlier this year installed 11 charging outlets together with ChargeNode to tenants Polestar and Volvo Car Retail. The project has been part-funded by the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency through Klimatklivet.

The installation is the largest at Landvetter Airport and together with our tenants Polestar and Volvo Car Retail, we will truly become the electric car house at the airport” says Johan Burenius, CEO at Holtback Group AB, where Park It Smart and RH Property are part of the company.

Park It Smart has chosen to install ChargeNode's beam solution, a recycled aluminum railing with integrated charging outlets. All cable is hidden inside the railing, which minimizes expensive earthworks and facilitates future maintenance. Charging is activated and paid easily by users with the ChargeNodes app.

Their guests are usually parked 24h or more, but an electric car rarely needs more than 2-3h recharging. With traditional charging boxes, these would be left unused about 90% of the day. We now have a total of 96 charging points plugged into the property at only 200A and then the property consumes a lot in the daytime,” says Kristian Sandahl, CEO and founder ChargeNode.

Park It Smart operates parking operations at Gothenburg Landvetter Airport. A total of 370 parking spaces are offered, the majority of which are covered.
