Mälarenergi chooses ChargeNode to develop public charging infrastructure in Mälardalen. The agreement provides easy payment, smart charging and support for fossil-free mobility.

Mälarenergi AB has signed an agreement with ChargeNode Europé AB (ChargeNode) to jointly develop the public charging infrastructure in the region. The agreement includes ChargeNode's charging service via app, available on all platforms, as well as the possibility of direct payment via QR code or card terminal, making it easy for charging customers to pay directly on the spot.
“We look forward to developing our partnership with Mälarenergi and all their customers. As Sweden's market-leading charging operator, we must constantly challenge the market and drive development forward to meet customer needs,” says Fredrik Rikelius, Sales Manager Mälardalen at ChargeNode.
Mälarenergi invests heavily in expanding the public charging infrastructure for the region's residents and visitors, in order to meet both current and future charging needs.
“Mälarenergi has understood the importance of developing a public charging infrastructure in its region and we are very happy to be part of their venture. The demand for charging is high everywhere, and we hope that more players take this as a matter of course and follow suit,” Fredrik Rikelius continues.
ChargeNode will supply the charging service itself to Mälarenergi. End users use ChargeNode's app to start and stop their charging, but payment without registration in the app is also possible by QR code or via card terminal. Users get a worry-free charge and can get help around the clock if problems should arise.
“We have decided that all our products and services will be offered with net zero emissions of fossil carbon dioxide by 2030. Through the agreement with ChargeNode, we get a safe partner and charging service for our customers where we can influence future functions,” says Gustaf Skilje, Product Owner Elektromobility at Mälarenergi.
