Brf The Village and The Village 2 will install 231 charging points with ChargeNode's smart and scalable charging system. A future-proof solution that increases the value of homes.
Brf The Village which is the largest housing association in Hammarbysjöstad, together with its sister association Brf The Village 2, chooses ChargeNode and installs electric car charging in all 231 parking spaces.
The possibility of charging in the home has quickly become a requirement for many people who change their home. Electric car charging has gone from being an innovation to becoming an established value driver that increases the value of condominiums with charging capability.
Brf The Village with 226 apartments and Brf The Village 2 with 154 apartments are two of many associations that have recognized the importance of electric car charging and are now creating one of Sweden's largest private charging sites with ChargeNode.
The Village chose to make a structured procurement involving some of Sweden's leading charging system suppliers. Evaluation criteria included requirements for scalability, service, platform and governance.
“The fact that the choice fell on ChargeNode was easy when we started comparing it with other charging systems. Traditional charging box solutions contain electrical components that are often only protected by a plastic cover. Therefore, with external influences such as moisture, corrosion and temperature differences, service life can be significantly affected.
Instead, ChargeNode's charging technology is based on a completely groundbreaking technology where all electrical components are centrally protected in a solid electrical cabinet with the highest IP rating. With a minimum estimated life of 20 years, ChargeNode can therefore deliver a reliable solution with a long depreciation period and low total cost over life, which were decisive factors for the Village.
The Village has chosen two types of design on ChargeNode's charging solution. In one, charging outlets are mounted directly on the wall of the garage. In the second, The Village has chosen ChargeNodes best selling aluminum duct with charging socket along the parking lot.
An electric car rarely needs to charge more than 1-3h but is often parked significantly longer. With traditional charging boxes and poles, the utilization rate is therefore low. ChargeNode's patent-pending charging technology instead means that many electric cars share on a centralized charging unit. The solution creates discrete charging points where only charging outlets are placed at each parking location. The system can scale to hundreds of charging locations. With smart software, charging is distributed so that all cars get the charge they need. In this way, the available power is utilised in a much smarter way than putting charging boxes in every parking space.
