New EU law on electric car charging

On January 1, 2025, a new EU law will enter into force requiring parking lots of heated non-residential buildings with more than 20 parking spaces in the building or on the plot to have at least one charging point for electric vehicles.

Power charge or power tariff

Electricity network companies are forced to introduce power-based pricing to create incentives for their customers to spread their electricity use over time. This is to avoid power peaks that can lead to problems in the electricity system. Power-based pricing means higher grid costs if you use a lot of electricity at the same time. Our charging and payment service is based on departure time and charges cars in turn to avoid these peaks and extra costs.

What is Afir?

Afir stands for the Regulation on the deployment of alternative fuels infrastructure. It came into force on April 13, 2024 and will drive the infrastructure for alternative fuels in the EU, among other things, all public parking lots must offer direct payment by card for electric cars without the need for app registration. What is load balancing?

What is reach?

What is range anxiety?

What is OCPI?

It is an open protocol used within the EV charging infrastructure to enable communication between different actors, for example between charging infrastructure operators and service providers.

What is OCPP?

It is a standardised open application protocol that allows charging stations and charging station networks from different suppliers to communicate with each other.

What is CPO?

That is, the operator who installs and maintains charging stations, either its own or for third parties.

What is API?

It is a controlled way of transferring information, for example between two systems.

What is a quick charger?

Perfect along the highways but it requires a completely different power outlet and other installations compared to our solution with AC chargers that are load balanced against the property.

What is charging power?
The amount of energy per unit time transferred when charging a chargeable vehicle. The unit for charging power is kilowatts, kW.
