Ladda Bilen Bidraget is an investment grant funded by the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency to promote the expansion of charging stations for electric cars in the country. With the Ladda Bilen Grant, you as a company, housing association or other organization receive 50% of your total investment cost in grants.
You can apply for a grant for charging in a housing association or at a company (non-public charging) by submitting the application either before or after the charging stations are in place and the installation completed. The grant is paid as a lump sum of 50% of the total cost of the project. However, a maximum of SEK 15 000 per charging point. As long as there is money left to pay out, companies and housing associations are guaranteed grants.
For charging stations that are accessible to the public, such as those installed along our roads, at shopping centers or in public parking garages, the grant is called “Klimatklivet”. In this case, you apply for the grant before the charging station is installed and after the application is approved. Keep in mind that the processing time at the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency from submission of the application to the grant being awarded is 3-4 months.
The grant for the installation of public charging points is 50% of the total investment cost.

The application must always be made in two stages. First, an application must always be made in which you state the estimated cost of the measure and on which properties the charging devices are to be installed. The Swedish Environmental Protection Agency’s decision states whether you are granted a subsidy for the measure. The grant is reserved in the system until you submit your request for payment, but no longer than twelve months. If you decide not to implement the measure, you must withdraw the application via the link below.
Applications can only be made by signatories. The application forms automatically retrieve information from the Swedish Companies Registration Office and the National Land Survey.
To receive compensation after the measure has been completed, a Request for payment must be submitted to the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency. The request for payment must state the same case number as in your decision letter.
Option 1
If the action is completed when you submit your application, the Request for Payment must be submitted within three months of receiving the decision letter.
Option 2
If the measure is not completed when you submit your application, you have 12 months to complete the measure. In this case, the request for payment must be submitted no later than three months after completion of the installation.
The grant can be given to companies, apartment buildings such as housing cooperatives and other organizations for the installation of charging stations used by themselves. These can be charging stations installed for members of a housing association, in a company’s staff parking lot or for company vehicles. This support was previously included in Klimatklivet. But to make it easier, the government has decided on special rules for these. The rules apply under a new regulation.
Companies wishing to install electric vehicle charging are also eligible for the grant. Our team will help you through the whole process from applying for the grant to installation.
